Fun Food Fitness 2016

Jeunesse Anion – Fun Food Fitness 2016 from LaineyLovesLife on Vimeo.

I rarely attend social events but when I do, I make sure I really participate. And because anything that concerns health goes on top of my goal funnel, I took a few hours off being a nanny to my only son so I could dance Zumba with Philippines’ dance diva, Regine Tolentino.

Gosh, she’s so beautiful and fit! With her sexy dance moves, I can tell why she hasn’t aged a bit. Regine, together with her friends, taught us some crazy Zumba moves! That afternoon was fun and really exhilarating! Liberating too, because I haven’t done this since I learned I was pregnant.

And just like how gym rats would secretly go to their favourite resto to reward themselves for the hardwork, we ate some good food! Woohoo! It’s a shame I wasn’t able to take photos of the buffet but I can assure you that we had HEALTHY food. Good food doesn’t need to be all dull and bland. Marriott Hotel served us guilt-free and satisfying dishes.

While enjoying our healthy meals, celebrity chef and mom Len Santos-Ding had a demo of her guilt-free, easy-peasy one pan meals. The dishes were tagged as one-pan meals because you literally need just one pan to cook each and it only takes a few minutes to prepare each meal. This wondermom is great at what she does, and you can trust her taste in food. Chef Len advocates healthy eating. No matter how busy we are, we should skip the junk and eat healthy food, no matter how busy, no matter how tired.

And like the typical OC mom, she throws in her pan ONLY the healthy stuff. In her demos, she used Doña Elena pasta and olive oils, and Clara Olé dressings. Jeunesse Anion wouldn’t partner with them if they’re not the best so I did a little research about these brands too and they’re absolutely the healthy kind. Eversince I found these two, Doña Elena and Clara Olé have been staples in my grocery basket. When we have guests at home or when we’re too lazy to go out to get merienda, we have pasta and sauces ready. We don’t even put condiments anymore because Clara Ole sauces taste rich and yummy.

I had loads of fun at this event and I’m sure other moms had a blast too! It was a treat for hardworking moms who deserve a break.:) Off to the kitchen now to cook some healthy dishes! Thanks Jeunesse Anion for another great event!

42°C in Summer

Unbelievable! The last time I experienced 42°C was when I first set foot in Doha 8 years ago.  My nose bled for days. The summer heat is dangerous and I live in a town just outside Manila where there are plenty of trees. I can’t imagine how hot it is in the city right now. I love summer but 42°C is just too much for me.

As much as I love the sun, I can’t go on a long out of town trip because of Pierce. He’s too young to be exposed to a weather this hot so we just take short trips to the mall or a nearby park late in the afternoon when it’s cooler. I’ve been busy with my freelance work these days (plus being a mom of course which is my actual full time job).

I just want to share with you some of my instagram photos:

I wish to have a garden one day… One that has plenty of beautiful succulents.

I wish you all a lovely day!

Mary Kay Timewise Replenishing Serum+C

I never had big skincare problems as a teenager and the pimples were manageable. At age 27, I didn’t even realize how much my skin has changed until I got to be assessed by professional skincare experts. I’m a girl who loves the sun and the many years of not using sunscreen has started to show signs. Signs of aging.

Since then I became more cautious on what I put on my skin (and what not). I like anything anti-aging, de-aging, and anything that promises youthful skin. As you know, time is something we can’t stop but age in appearance is something we can slow down.

About 2 months ago, I discovered Mary Kay’s Timewise Replenishing Serum. Thanks to @Askmewhats for picking me as the winner of her Instagram giveaway, I got one bottle to try. Of course, I had to finish it before writing a review because it takes 4-6 weeks to visibly see and feel the effect.

I used about 3-4 pumps of this serum twice a day – in the morning and at night. Based on the counter, you’ll see that the product is meant to last for 6 weeks. It took me 8 weeks to empty this bottle because I missed it several times.

Unlike other serums I tried, Mary Kay’s replenishing serum isn’t oily or heavy at all. It  dries quickly so I always pump just a small amount and apply the serum part by part. It gets easily absorbed and I wake up the following day to a smooth skin.

I like skincare products that smell amazing. Organic ones do smell good despite the absence of chemicals while this one has very light scent, I honestly do not smell a hint of perfume. If there’s anything, I’m guessing it’s alcohol (?). I wish it smells citrusy since it claims to have Vitamin C. That might be the only con for me.

It also promises to help firm and lift sagging skin. I lost a significant amount of weight after giving birth so I can’t really tell if it this works. I can only confidently tell you that it improved my skin’s texture.

This serum is part of Mary Kay’s Timewise line, along with 27 other products.

Have you tried this? If yes, I’d love to know your Timewise experience or hear about other serums you recommend. Please leave a comment below.

How far would you go to get that dream body?

Pevonia Australia Organic Skincare body

Or maybe I should ask myself the same question.

Halfway through my pregnancy, I had really bad dreams about gaining weight and a bulging tummy. I asked myself, “Am I a selfish mother for thinking about what I’ll look like after giving birth? Will I be able to get back to my old self fast, without killing myself at the gym or starving myself to death?”

Don’t get me wrong. I’m madly in love with my son and I held him tight in my arms when I first saw him. I patiently waited for him and happily anticipated his birth but I also know that while taking care of my beautiful boy, I should also take care of myself.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good. It’s your body and you can do anything you want to do with it just as long as it’s a positive change.

Lainey Loves Life Contours Roura Dermsurgeon

I searched and searched and discovered a new way of getting that well sculpted body: Vaser Hi-Definition Liposculpture.

Vaser Hi-Def Lipo is really popular among actors, models and others in the entertainment industry. It’s an advanced body contouring procedure that makes athletic, chiseled body possible after one operation. More than trimming away body fat, Vaser Hi-Def removes the deep and superficial fat to reveal the natural details of the muscles underneath. If you have been exercising, say hello to your abs after the operation.

Is it safe?

Yes, it is safe if you go to a certified dermsurgeon who has many years of experience with the Vaser instrument. I think people are quite conservative to admit they’ve had an operation so I’m not seeing reviews from here in the Philippines but I read testimonials on and the before and after images are just wow!

If you’re interested, you might want to check out Dr. Claudine Roura of Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute. She’s the first dermsurgeon in the Philippines to be trained and certified by Dr. Alfredo Hoyos, the same doctor who created the Vaser Hi-Def Lipo technology. Dr. Roura has handled more than a thousand cases with 100% success rate. I think she’s the top choice since she was trained in the US by Dr. Hoyos himself. Check out Dr. Roura’s website for more info on her treatments.

Will I go for it?

I’ll have to check how much the procedure is because it varies depending on the number of areas that will be done. Honestly, I’m scared of the word “lipo” because it could be fatal but go check the testimonials and before and after photos on Vaser Lipo at or Hoyos’ website and you’ll be convinced!

Will you consider having a Vaser Hi-Def Lipo to get that dream body?

Nayangu: 100% Organic Personal Care Products

Lainey Loves Life - Nayangu -4

New Discovery: Nayangu personal care products are certified 100% organic, Halal, fair trade, and cruelty-free.

#BeyondWellnessGlobal #AGiftofWellness

While Mother Nature has a cure for almost everything, we can’t just pick leaves from our garden and customize our own skincare. I came from a traditional family and grew up with a lola (grandma) at home so I know well what it’s like to use puree made from plants’ stems and leaves as medicine/personal care. Although these are said to be healing and therapeutic, it’s best to leave it to the experts.

After years of working with international organic skincare brands, I admit that I’m extra cautious of what I put on my skin. I try to go for all natural, if not organic, so I could live a healthier, longer life. Choosing organic is also one small step to creating a sustainable environment.

Not all brands go that far because using all organic ingredients can be limiting. Nayangu is a new all-Filipino 100% organic personal care brand and I was lucky to receive a travel kit that contains all-natural, ethically-sourced, chemical free products!

The range description says a lot of great things but I picked the ones that made me instantly love the products. My Nayangu travel kit:

  1. HANDSHAKE hand spray – good for sweaty hands, lemongrass scent. I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎
  2. MARCH foot spray – This keeps toes dry and odor-free and it promises to instantly remove the odor after spraying.
  3. SOOTHE deodorant – The calamansi essential oil helps naturally brighten the underarm area.
  4. BLOSSOM feminine spray – gentle spray for women’s intimate area with a zest of mint. I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎
  5. REFRESH masculine spray – I’ll pass this to my man! He’ll surely love the scent.
  6. BREATHE mouth spray – I tried this and I love that it’s not too strong or overwhelming.
  7. ZAP insect repellent – minus the chemicals. Perfect and safe for babies! I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎

My Muslim friends from Dubai and Indonesia will love these too because Nayangu products are certified Halal and yes, they have branches in these countries. Lainey Loves Life - Nayangu 5
