Mary Kay Timewise Replenishing Serum+C

I never had big skincare problems as a teenager and the pimples were manageable. At age 27, I didn’t even realize how much my skin has changed until I got to be assessed by professional skincare experts. I’m a girl who loves the sun and the many years of not using sunscreen has started to show signs. Signs of aging.

Since then I became more cautious on what I put on my skin (and what not). I like anything anti-aging, de-aging, and anything that promises youthful skin. As you know, time is something we can’t stop but age in appearance is something we can slow down.

About 2 months ago, I discovered Mary Kay’s Timewise Replenishing Serum. Thanks to @Askmewhats for picking me as the winner of her Instagram giveaway, I got one bottle to try. Of course, I had to finish it before writing a review because it takes 4-6 weeks to visibly see and feel the effect.

I used about 3-4 pumps of this serum twice a day – in the morning and at night. Based on the counter, you’ll see that the product is meant to last for 6 weeks. It took me 8 weeks to empty this bottle because I missed it several times.

Unlike other serums I tried, Mary Kay’s replenishing serum isn’t oily or heavy at all. It  dries quickly so I always pump just a small amount and apply the serum part by part. It gets easily absorbed and I wake up the following day to a smooth skin.

I like skincare products that smell amazing. Organic ones do smell good despite the absence of chemicals while this one has very light scent, I honestly do not smell a hint of perfume. If there’s anything, I’m guessing it’s alcohol (?). I wish it smells citrusy since it claims to have Vitamin C. That might be the only con for me.

It also promises to help firm and lift sagging skin. I lost a significant amount of weight after giving birth so I can’t really tell if it this works. I can only confidently tell you that it improved my skin’s texture.

This serum is part of Mary Kay’s Timewise line, along with 27 other products.

Have you tried this? If yes, I’d love to know your Timewise experience or hear about other serums you recommend. Please leave a comment below.

Nayangu: 100% Organic Personal Care Products

Lainey Loves Life - Nayangu -4

New Discovery: Nayangu personal care products are certified 100% organic, Halal, fair trade, and cruelty-free.

#BeyondWellnessGlobal #AGiftofWellness

While Mother Nature has a cure for almost everything, we can’t just pick leaves from our garden and customize our own skincare. I came from a traditional family and grew up with a lola (grandma) at home so I know well what it’s like to use puree made from plants’ stems and leaves as medicine/personal care. Although these are said to be healing and therapeutic, it’s best to leave it to the experts.

After years of working with international organic skincare brands, I admit that I’m extra cautious of what I put on my skin. I try to go for all natural, if not organic, so I could live a healthier, longer life. Choosing organic is also one small step to creating a sustainable environment.

Not all brands go that far because using all organic ingredients can be limiting. Nayangu is a new all-Filipino 100% organic personal care brand and I was lucky to receive a travel kit that contains all-natural, ethically-sourced, chemical free products!

The range description says a lot of great things but I picked the ones that made me instantly love the products. My Nayangu travel kit:

  1. HANDSHAKE hand spray – good for sweaty hands, lemongrass scent. I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎
  2. MARCH foot spray – This keeps toes dry and odor-free and it promises to instantly remove the odor after spraying.
  3. SOOTHE deodorant – The calamansi essential oil helps naturally brighten the underarm area.
  4. BLOSSOM feminine spray – gentle spray for women’s intimate area with a zest of mint. I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎
  5. REFRESH masculine spray – I’ll pass this to my man! He’ll surely love the scent.
  6. BREATHE mouth spray – I tried this and I love that it’s not too strong or overwhelming.
  7. ZAP insect repellent – minus the chemicals. Perfect and safe for babies! I love this and will definitely purchase! ❤︎

My Muslim friends from Dubai and Indonesia will love these too because Nayangu products are certified Halal and yes, they have branches in these countries. Lainey Loves Life - Nayangu 5

Back to Basic: Phytomer

Lainey Loves LIfe - Phytomer cleanser purifying mask replenishing oil

Gorgeous, inside and out!

I’ve used plenty of skincare products and I learned that more than just cleansing my skin, I should go for products that do so much more. Is the brand that you use organic? Does it help sustain the environment? Does it produce professional grade, quality products and treatments while preserving our fragile resources? If your skincare does all these, then you’ve picked the right brand.

I’m happy I’ve found another brand that I can trust. For 3 generations, PHYTOMER has been creating in-house unprecedented marine active ingredients, and has been manufacturing high-quality products distributed throughout the world right from the heart of the marine world in Brittany, France. ❤︎

Thank God for good friends! I received a care package from Liane last week and boy, I’m still in awe with all the content of my beauty pack (check out my Post Pregnancy Skincare). Pimples sprouted out on my chin some time during week 20+ of my pregnancy. Now that bub’s out (I suppose the pregnancy hormones are out too), it’s just timely that I put more effort on giving my skin a fix.

I use them in this order:

(1) Phytomer Souffle Marin Cleansing Foaming Cream – I can tell the big difference after every wash! My skin feels so soft and smooth. This cleanser is specifically for tired, polluted, and dull skin and all I can say is although it feels velvety soft on my skin while cleansing, I feel squeaky clean right after.

(2) Phytomer Oligopur Shine Control Purifying Mask – Goodbye oily skin! I have always used the peel off type but this one does the job well, I immediately felt the effect!

(3) Phytomer Rosée Soin Radiance Replenishing Oil – Every drop of this oil is precious! This smells and feels so divine! It has rose oil that soothes the skin, and jojoba oil that maintains the skin’s suppleness and elasticity.

…and then I apply:

(4) Pevonia Stem Cells Phyto Elite Intensive Cream
(5) Pevonia Power Repair Eye Contour

I just started my new skincare routine and I’m hoping to have clear skin before Christmas. If you want to know more about Phytomer and the effectiveness of the products, click on the links above.

My Post Pregnancy Skincare

Lainey Loves LIfe - Pevonia gift bag.jpg

I have been busy, crazy busy, these past few weeks. “Busy at work” doesn’t even compare to being “busy with baby.” With work, it takes great organizing skills and you’ll be pretty safe and on track but with baby, it’s as if your world will fall apart if you don’t try to be extend your patience – and that applies to both mom and dad.

Time flies by so fast! It’s been three weeks since I gave birth to this beautiful boy soundly sleeping beside me and I’m like a thief here stealing some time to write a blog entry. I think I’m starting to get the groove of being a full time mom-slash-nanny. 😄 I might even start taking digital marcomms job again – that is if I decode and master my boy’s sleeping pattern.

Some time during the 20+ week of my pregnancy, I started getting pimples on my chin. It would go away for a while but it kept coming back and God, I still have them now. And then last week, I received a care package from my friend and former boss Liane! I went crazy going over the items she sent me and I’ve started using them yesterday. I can’t wait to tell you about the wonderful effects of the products on my skin.

Here are the contents of the package. I’ll post about each of the products separately.

I’m one happy Bella with OLAY #TotalEffects

Lainey Loves Life - Belle de Jour Olay Total Effects

Nothing beats natural beauty! I believe that behind all the beautiful makeup, every woman needs to have a skincare she can trust in everything that her skin needs. I love makeup but at the end of the day, we will all sleep barefaced and it’s great to wake up in the morning looking and feeling fresh and beautiful.

Two weeks ago, Kumi of picked several comments on her feature of Belle de Jour (planners) x OLAY Philippines and I was lucky to be one of the 20 lovely bellas who received a gift!

The posh white mesh tote contained one 200ml OLAY Deep Moisture Body Wash with honey and one OLAY Total Effects 7 in 1 Day Cream. I love OLAY products for its moisturising properties and I’m a big fan of anything luxe smelling so I fell in love with the body wash right away! ❤︎ On my face however, I’m quite picky with what I put on because I easily get pimples. The day cream was on my desk for several days before I decided to try it.

Surprisingly, I loved the OLAY day cream! Unlike other beauty creams, it’s lightweight and cool. I didn’t feel like I’m wearing a day cream at all (this is a good thing considering the humid weather that we have). Does 7-in-1 sound good to you? Sounds great to me! I don’t have to put 7 different products to deliver all the skincare benefits I expect to get. It’s:

  • age-defying
  • brightening
  • deeply hydrating
  • moisturizing
  • pore refining
  • soothing
  • radiantly beautiful on skin

It’s a magic potion in a tube.

I highly recommend these products! Use OLAY Total Effects 7 in 1 Day Cream to maintain a youthful face and OLAY Deep Moisture Body Wash with honey for body moisture that lasts all day!

Thank you Kumi, Belle de Jour and Olay Philippines for this beautiful gift! ❤︎
